We were asked to build a two bay carport with attached storage shed measuring 28′ x 20′.
The Carport is oak framed with architectural brackets.
The 8″ x 8″ oak posts sit on stainless steel shoes to raise them up off the ground.
Each parking bay is 20′ x 10′ and the shed measures 16′ x 8′ allowing there to be a 4′ canopy over the door to the shed.
The shed is made from vertical Cedar boards and has a hand made frame, ledge, brace, batten door. The shed has a ceiling allowing there to be an open storage area on top of the shed which is accessed from the Carport.
The roof is solid pressure treated timber, covered with slate lathes and Cedar Shingles. Gutters and down pipes run either side of the roof terminating in a water butt.
The choice of materials helps the building to sit comfortably within the natural landscape making it pleasing to the eye. The multi-use building provides flexibility and gives excellent storage options both within the shed and outside in the carport.
